LEGACY

Contratulations to Gillis on the their selection as the 2013-2014 Centurions Legacy Project

Gillis serves children and families through campus-based and community-based services. Campus-based services include residential care and special needs education for emotionally and behaviorally-troubled boys and their families. Community Based Services include crisis intervention and reunification programs extended to families in their homes. Gillis works with families as they learn the effective parenting and life skills that will enable them to live together in healthy, nurturing and self-sufficient homes.

The Legacy Project for 2013/2014 will focus on designing and building a grilling deck, provide a grill and grilling accessories as well as volunteer time throughout the year. The volunteer hours will be used to teach the young men how to grill and just "hang out" as one would do with their family and friends. Many of these young men have never experienced nor learned the importance of leisure time.
